I awoke at 4 am today inspired! I quickly dressed and drove to my shop to get the ovens started. I had dreamed of layers and layers of chocolate and nuts. Let me introduce you to Chocolate Baklava Scones!
The Scone Goddess Chocolate Baklava Scone Recipe
1 The Scone Goddess Premium Vanilla Scone Mix
1/3 cup Nutella
1/2 cup finely chopped almonds (or your favorite nut) Use a Cuisinart for consistently chopped nuts
1.5 TB softened butter
INSTRUCTIONS: Preheat Oven to 375 degrees (Convection is always preferred)
Combine softened butter, Nutella and chopped nuts in a bowl.
Make the vanilla scone dough as directed.
Roll the dough into a large rectangle. the bigger the better!
Spread the Nutella mixture across the entire rectangle.
Roll the dough and seal the edges. Cut the dough loaf into 4 pieces. Then cut each piece diagonally to form triangles.
Place the dough on a baking sheet and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes in the freezer, place in a hot oven for 18-20 minutes. Spin halfway through.
I drizzled vanilla glaze over each scone once cooled.
